I’m Moving On いつもそうしてんじゃない?
The title of this post is a line from a song that I recently rediscovered and fell in love with. Again. I think it basically fits the current situation pretty well, as far as I’m concerned. I’ll get more into that later. This post is going to be pretty long and rant-y, so whoever feels up to reading the whole thing… Good for you.
Warning: My rants are known to cause temporary insanity, extreme boredom, and your brain suddenly exploding. Proceed at your own risk.
If you remember my last post I was panicked over being extremely overwhelmed with things. That’s all over now. (“I’m moving on~”) Thankfully, (or not so thankfully) that all ended at around the same time and now I’m just sitting here being… Perfectly bored. Yes, I’m actually glad to be bored for once.
My Odyssey project, the thing with 50 or so pages… I didn’t get much of that done. I’m basically hoping for some extra credit points in the family tree section of the project. I went back to around 1633. Most people only went back to their great grandparents. I even had a portrait of my oldest known relative. And maps of the areas where various people lived. So, yeah. I want extra credit. *nudges Mrs. Swyers*
As for the Biology project, I ended up making a little board game with bug facts instead of an animation. That was actually pretty fun, and as far as I know, my score on that was pretty good. The report was pretty easy, but I didn’t finish drawing all of the pictures. Oh well.
In Theater 2 we already did our 3 character-thing. Mr. Rob(ertson) said “Good job, Shelbi.” as I was leaving the class. I just think he was trying to make me feel better, because mine sort of sucked. Big time. At least compared to everyone else. I don’t think my characters were distinct enough for very many points, and the (very short) scene was really underdeveloped. But some points are better than no points.
I finished reading The Host (by Stephenie Meyer), and I’m now reading it again. It’s that good. For all of you Twilight fans out there (who most likely don’t read this blog), read The Host. NOW.It kicks the Twilight series to Mars and back, then proceeding to chew it up, spit it out into a frying pan before throwing it into pool of gasoline and throwing a match in there with it. And that actually isn’t an exaggeration.
Math homework… Still working on that. I’ll do it… Someday. *looks off into the future*
Arthritis is better. ‘Nuf said.
My little brother found my camera in his swimming parka pocket (try saying that 10 times fast). I had left it there when I had been wearing it outside and taking pictures of/videotaping the storm right after the City Track Meet. That one with the tornado warnings. Yeah, I was standing outside. But so what? I’ve stood outside as I watched a tornado pass a half-mile away from my house in Lawrence. Boo-hoo. It’s not that scary, people.
So, since all of that important stuff is done, I’m basically just chilling out. I had a final in Pre-AP English, though. It was surprisingly easy, even though I didn’t read the book that most of the questions were about (No offense meant, Mrs. Swyers, but Great Expectations reallysucks. The only parts I actually read were the first chapter, the ending, and when Mrs. Havisham got set on fire.) I’m expecting about an 85%, which is about 8% above the average in Mrs. Swyers 1st and 4th hour classes. I’m a-good.
So, now for the song. The song is Signal by KAT-TUN.
I re-listened to it today, and realized how much it seems to fit foreign exchange/life in general. I suppose I’ll post the lyrics like this:
Actual lyrics.
English translation.
So… Here we go. Ignore my possibly horrible translation.
Hey girl! oshiete donna yume mite
Hey girl! Tell me, what kind of dream are you seeing?
hitori bocchi yoake matta no?
Did you wait for dawn all on your own?
Hey boy! hitogomi ni kakuretemo shouganai
Hey boy! Hiding in the crowd is pointless.
arifureta joushiki kono machi ja hijoushiki
Normal common sense is just a lack of common sense in this city.
Take it easy now.
What’s going on? kurikaete
What’s going on? Changing over.
What’s going on? norikoete
What’s going on? Getting over it.
I’m moving on. itsumo sou shiten ja nai?
I’m moving on. Isn’t that what we always do?
Take it easy now.
What’s going on? chika chika to
What’s going on? Flickering,
What’s going on? kiesou na
What’s going on? Like it might disappear.
jounetsu wa sorezore no mune ni
Passion is in every heart.
iyasarecha monotarinai
It’s not enough to be healed,
ganbaru dake ja sukuwarenai
and just trying hard won’t save you.
kimajime sugitemo nozomu basho ni tatenai
Even if you’re completely serious, you can’t stand where you’d like.
shunkan wo eien ni kokoro de kiritotte
Moments into eternity, cut it out in your heart.
osorezu ni TROUBLE ni DIVE shitemiro
Try diving into trouble without fear,
Life goes on!
Take it easy now.
What’s going on? kurikaete
What’s going on? Changing over.
What’s going on? norikoete
What’s going on? Getting over it.
I’m moving on. itsumo sou shiten ja nai?
I’m moving on. Isn’t that what we always do?
Take it easy now.
What’s going on? chika chika to
What’s going on? Flickering,
What’s going on? kiesou na
What’s going on? Like it might disappear.
jounetsu wa sorezore no mune ni
Passion is in every heart.
What’s going on? shinayaka ni
What’s going on? Fluidly.
What’s going on? shitataka ni
What’s going on? Determinedly.
I’m moving on. minna ikiterun ja nai?
I’m moving on. Isn’t that how everyone lives?
What’s going on? wagamama ni
What’s going on? Selfishly.
Just moving on. ayauge ni
Just moving on. Dangerously.
oretachi wa kyou mo ikiterun ja nai?
Isn’t that how we’re all living today?
My girl, koko e oide, hora… Yeah.
My girl, come here, see… Yeah.
Your heart keshite hitori ja nai
Your heart, you’re never alone.
hanashite goran
Just try talking.
tobikau denpa nariyamanu denwa
Flying signals, endlessly ringing phones,
doko mo kashiko mo ichido mita member
All over, a once-seen member.
ikiba mo nakute hitori kowakute
With nowhere to go, scared of being alone,
shizumeteku jibun kensou no naka ni
Surpressing it yourself in the middle of the noise.
mokuteki mo naku tamuro suru everyday
Without a goal, just hanging around everyday.
dakedo nani mo mitsukaranu any day
But not finding anything any day.
shinpai sun ja nee we’re all the same
Don’t worry, we’re all the same.
omaera minna himeta possibility
You all have hidden possibility.
Take it easy now.
What’s going on? kurikaete
What’s going on? Changing over.
What’s going on? norikoete
What’s going on? Getting over it.
I’m moving on. itsumo sou shiten ja nai?
I’m moving on. Isn’t that what we always do?
Take it easy now.
What’s going on? chika chika to
What’s going on? Flickering,
What’s going on? kiesou na
What’s going on? Like it might disappear.
jounetsu wa sorezore no mune ni
Passion is in every heart.
What’s going on? shinayaka ni
What’s going on? Fluidly.
What’s going on? shitataka ni
What’s going on? Determinedly.
I’m moving on. minna ikiterun ja nai?
I’m moving on. Isn’t that how everyone lives?
What’s going on? wagamama ni
What’s going on? Selfishly.
Just moving on. ayauge ni
Just moving on. Dangerously.
oretachi wa kyou mo ikiterun ja nai?
Isn’t that how we’re all living today?
I think I’m going to start having a song like this every entry, depending on how I’m feeling or whatever. Not only will it help me decide what I’m feeling (how corny is that?), but it’ll help me get better at translating Japanese. So… Yeah.
Until my next entry.
